The Unravelling Word
Collage of screen prints on tissue paper, and yarn
Approx. 130cm (W) x 150cm (H)
Natalie's practice explores the in-between spaces where fragmentation and layering become a language of their own.
Drawing on her literary background, she deconstructs printed text into tactile forms, stripping language of its rigidity to reveal a shifting fluidity. In this work, twisted tissue paper reflects her interest in deconstruction theory, treating the word as something shaped by context and emotion rather than fixed rules.
Vivid red yarn weaves through these delicate tangles, symbolising the emotional forces that both bind and disrupt meaning. Through themes of memory and rupture, Natalie honours the incomplete, reframing fragmentation as a space for renewal and a profound, quiet transformation.
