For this exhibition, Phil has been immersing himself in the flows of water and time.

In a continuation of his Unfiltered? quest of refilling two magic lantern slide boxes previously belonging to the London Metropolitan Water Board, he has made pencil drawings of original slides depicting bacteria. These scaled-up drawings will be digitally reduced in size to recreate lantern slides and are displayed here as a process step.

Song of a Sourdough III – a regeneration, is a work that has been reduced to dust and remade for a third time and whose making and remaking ties to a reflective journey of gold prospecting, coal mining, de-industrialisation, and the landscape of southeast Ayrshire.
