'Lightly Tethered’
Kite installation made from hand-printed tissue, Japanese paper, bamboo and cotton .
Variable dimensions, approximately 1.5m (W) x 1m (L) x 1.5m (H)

For Respun, Carolyn Murphy is showing her installation ‘Lightly Tethered’, adapted to the space at Durning Library. The paper kite structures, made from bamboo and hand-printed tissue paper and Japanese paper are fragile objects, collaged, layered and intertwined with each other. Amongst other things, they reflect on joy, disaster and the limits of our control.

Her framed collagraph ‘Still Recovering’ is inspired by nature’s powers of recovery and Carolyn’s concerns with our impact on the environment we share - and its impact on us.
